PCHC recognized for its diversity and inclusion efforts

PCHC will be recognized at the 3rd annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit and Awards program, hosted by the Providence Business News, on December 10th.

PCHC’s was founded on the concept of inclusion, which we have worked to build on for more than 50 years. Our commitment continues to this day. In November, several of our staff members completed a training program called Transgender Health ECHO  (Trans ECHO), which improves clinician knowledge and provides support services to better deliver culturally-responsible, comprehensive, primary care for transgender and gender non-binary patients.

Earlier in 2020, we launched a Diversity Racial Equity Action Plan. PCHC has been home to a Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the past four years and numerous trainings focused on various diversity topics. In 2019, two of our health centers were designated as LGBTQ “Safe Zones” by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Most of our frontline providers speak more than one language as we seek to provide culturally-sensitive care to our patients.
