Dr. Tapan was born and raised in Turkey and enjoys spending time exploring New England with her family and friends.

In her current roles, Dr. Burdette is the Associate Vice President of Integrated Behavioral Health at Providence Community Health Centers, the largest federally qualified health center in Rhode Island and serves in both a leadership and clinical role. She also serves as the Senior Director of Integrated Behavioral Health for the Care Transformation Collaborative of Rhode Island (CTC-RI), a multi-disciplinary, multi-payor collaborative seeking to transform primary care in the State and is convened by the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner and EOHHS. In her CTC-RI role for the past 6 years, Dr. Burdette provides IBH leadership for the State, while also creating and publishing the first of its’ kind virtual self-paced training for IBH Practice Facilitators.
Dr. Burdette received her doctorate degree in Health Psychology from Spalding University and completed her internship at Cherokee Health Systems, focusing on behavioral health services within a primary care safety net population. Her post-doctorate was completed at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Primary Care Psychology.

She previously worked as a Senior Clinical Therapist at Gateway Healthcare, as Clinical Coordinator for the Pediatric Psychiatry Resource Network at Bradley Hospital, a Clinician for Enhanced Outpatient Services at NAFI-RI, Outpatient Clinician at FSRI, and Public Health Promotion Specialist for the RI Department of Health, Tobacco Control Program. For more than eight years, Marianela also served as an Adjunct Field Instructor and Supervisor in the Field Education Office, School of Social Work at Rhode Island College.
In her free time, Marianela enjoys different genres of music, salsa dancing, and cooking with her adult children.
Anteriomente trabajó como terapeuta clínica en Gateway Healthcare, como coordinadora clínica de la red de recursos de psiquiatría pediátrica en Bradley Hospital, como terapeuta clínica de servicios ambulatorios en North American Family Institute (NAFI-RI), como terapeuta clínica ambulatoria en Family Service of RI y especialista en promoción de salud pública en el programa de control del tabaco del Departamento de Salud de RI. Durante más de ocho años, Marianela también se desempeño como instructora de campo adjunta y supervisora para la oficina de educación y practicas externas en la Escuela de Trabajo Social de Rhode Island College.
En su tiempo libre, Marianela disfruta de diferentes géneros musicales, bailar salsa y cocinar con sus hijos adultos.
