One of the highlights of National Health Center Week was the August 7 ribbon cutting for the expansion of our Central Health Center. The program included remarks from Sen. Jack Reed, Merrill Thomas, PCHC President & CEO, Peter Marino from Neighborhood Health Plan of RI, Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos, and Chanita Hall, Central Health Center Director. We were excited to have An Kol, a health care assistant at Central who has been with PCHC for 35 years, wielding scissors to cut the ribbon with Sen. Reed!
Construction on the expansion started in December 2024 and includes 10 new exam rooms which will allow for an additional 4,000 patients to be seen annually. It includes a patient waiting room, lab testing space, a medication room, and more. The expansion is financed in part through federal funding secured by Sen. Reed and through a contribution from Neighborhood Health Plan of RI.
Thank you to the facilities team and everyone else who made this possible. Please visit our LinkedIn and Facebook pages for a video from the ribbon cutting.
